Warzone Mobile allegedly sees large number of Android uninstalls

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been out for not even a week and already it’s reportedly seeing a large number of uninstalls. Officially Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launched on March 21, 2024, after seeing a soft regional launch in beta for just a couple of countries quite some time back. Since then it’s been going through plenty of testing and even a couple of delays to make it to launch. For some players, however, all of that time in development may have been for naught.

A user on X by the name of @No1_Revenant claims that Warzone Mobile is the most uninstalled game on the Play Store within 24 hours of its launch. There are some things to take into consideration here though. This is simply a claim and there are no numbers to confirm that it’s factual. At least not that we could find. This is also a tweet from the 24th, which is three days after the launch. In short, take the claim with a grain of salt.

Warzone Mobile uninstalls are probably not as bad as they’re made out to be

Plenty of players on X have expressed discontent with the state of the game on Android as noted by both Dexerto and Sportskeeda. Some players claim the game has unoptimized performance and graphical issues. Bugs seem to pop up at random for players too, although not everyone who is experiencing bugs is experiencing the same ones. Then there are some players who simply can’t play the game at all. For example, we have confirmation from one player that the game simply crashes on a Galaxy S24 Ultra. A brand-new device with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset and plenty of RAM.

Meanwhile, we’ve had relatively no issues at all on the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition aside from slow-loading streamed assets. Another issue in itself that isn’t really an issue and is simply a misinterpreted method of how graphics rendering is handled in the game. It seems very clear that the Android version has some hiccups. That being said, uninstalls probably aren’t as bad as they’re made out to be.

There are very likely some players that have uninstalled the game following its launch problems. But being the “most uninstalled game on the Play Store within 24 hours” is a lofty claim and not one we think is as accurate as some would have you believe. The development team does seem to be working hard to fix the issues as fast as they can, which is nice to see.

The development team is actively working to optimize the game and fix bugs

Co-Studio Head Chris Plummer has talked at length about the game’s optimizations and the player’s concerns about them.

The official Warzone Mobile X account has also been posting updates about fixed issues and what’s still being worked on. So it’s clear that the dev team is acknowledging the issues. While also doing what they can to get patches out to fix bugs and improve the optimization. Still, that doesn’t seem to have convinced some players. This early in the launch cycle, it’s probably not going to be a “flip the switch” situation. Where all the bugs or unoptimized gameplay will simply go poof and cease to exist.

The good news is that bugs aside, the game is very fun to play. And with a little time, it should perform much better for players that are experiencing problems. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later.
