Christine Martin | News, Sports, Jobs – The Adirondack Daily Enterprise

Christine Martin, 71, passed away on April 11, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born on July 8, 1952, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Teresa Jones.

Christine grew up in Plainview, New York, and graduated from Plainview Old Bethpage High School in 1970. In 1980, she and her family relocated to Saranac Lake. She worked as a waitress for 35 years. She loved her job, and her customers loved her!

Christine was a kind, gentle, generous, strong, beautiful and funny woman! She loved to laugh, and her laugh was infectious. She represented all that is good in this world. She lived for her family, loved Hallmark movies and was always on the hunt for the perfect bra and face cream! Christine was FUN and never wanted much other than to see her family happy. Her faith and optimism were unwavering. She always said she’d do things “down the road” and we only wish her goodbye was a little further down that road. We will love and miss her every minute of every day.

Christine is survived by her husband, Gerald Martin; two children, Janine (Robert) Rochler and Colleen Martin; two grandchildren, Kendall and Raegan; six siblings, Maureen (Bill) Demicco, Thomas (Cheryl) Jones, Barbara Jones, Linda Jones, Paul Jones and Jeanette (Keith) Tietjan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Christine was predeceased in death by her brother, Timothy Jones; two sisters, Janine Jones and Kathy Kulbaba; her mother and father-in-law Charles and Dorthy Martin; brother-in-law Charles Martin; and sister-in-law Dorothy Martin.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Saranac Lake.

At Christine’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday May 11 at St. Bernard’s Church, 27 St. Bernard St., Saranac Lake, with the Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends wishing to remember Christine Martin can make memorial contributions to the Community Care Hospice, in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Family and friends can also share a memory, send the family a condolence and sign the on-line guest book at www.fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
