Apple isn’t expected to introduce any major updates to the Apple Watch this year, with the Apple Watch Series 9 expected to bring minor performance boosts without major changes to hardware according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman reports within the latest edition of his Power On newsletter that he “wouldn’t anticipate major changes to the Apple Watch’s hardware this year,” noting how “some minor performance boosts” will likely be added to roundup a relatively minor upgrade over the previous-generation.
Unlike 2022, which saw the launch of three Apple Watch models: the Apple Watch Series 8, second-generation Apple Watch SE and all-new Apple Watch Ultra, if the iPhone maker sticks with its usual Apple Watch release pattern, the company will only release one new Apple Watch this year — the Apple Watch Series 9.
Across the board, 2023 is expected to see relatively minor upgrades to Apple’s line of products as engineers focus on readying the long-rumored AR/MR headset that is widely expected to be announced later this year.
