Worthington Enterprises and STOKOTA have joined forces to design and assembly hydrogen transport and storage systems, with plans to launch a new product this year (2024).
With both companies working across hydrogen fuelling systems, storage transport and refuelling, Worthington and STOKOTA intend to match production strengths to deliver compressed hydrogen to end users.
Efforts will be focused on ramping up the production of 380-bar 20-ft hydrogen transportation containers, which they expect to deliver at the end of 2024.
The pair have said, “Shared expertise offers the mean to win market share faster in the hydrogen landscape,” while offering “ample open real estate.”
Wim De Genft, CEO of STOKOTA, said the company’s strengths in building certified tank vehicles alongside Worthington’s experience of composite high-pressure cylinder building will result in a “high-end” product.
The Belgian-headquartered tank manufacturer has two facilities near Worthington’s plant in Słupsk, Poland, which is hoped to shorten and secure supply chains. Established in 1963, STOKOTA started developing compressed hydrogen transport solutions in 2022.
The company’s website said it is currently developing a hydrogen transportation system that will be based on Type 4 cylinders.
