We’re locked in ‘parking war’ with neighbours… they leave inches between cars to annoy us but some people side with them

A WOMAN has revealed how she and her partner are locked in a “parking war” with neighbours who leave just inches between their cars.

Ellie, who posted a now-viral video of the dispute on TikTok, claims it has been running for more than 18 months.

In the clip, she alleged that the neighbour had left a minuscule gap between their car and her partner’s in “retaliation” for not being able to secure a spot outside their home.

She claimed: “My other half is having wars with my neighbours and I don’t know whether it’s petty or whether to say fair enough.

“They like to park right up against our cars.

“They also like to move their cars so no one else can get in because they believe it’s their spot even though it’s a public road.

“This has been going on for 18 months now and he’s had enough.

“She took four attempts to get it close enough.”

I don’t understand the issue

The video shows an Audi saloon parked with its front bumper barely an inch from the rear of a white Ford hatchback.

Ellie asked viewers what she could do or even if the neighbour was in the wrong to begin with.

Commenters returned mixed reactions, with some siding with the unnamed homeowner.

One wrote: “If anyone on my street parks in front of our house then we report the car. It’s an unspoken rule.

Neighbours always steal our parking but my kid helped me come up with ingenious solution to make sure they stop

“We’ll knock on doors to find someone to move it.”

Another added: “You have plenty of room at the front.

“I don’t understand the issue.”

However, the majority came down on Ellie’s side, with one joking: “Buy the cheapest car you can find.

“Wait until they move and then park it there.

“Then leave it and SORN it.”

A second chimed in: “I’d leave my car there for a week and get the bus.”

It comes after an ultra-rare £2.6 million Ferrari was left in bits after a 24-year-old dealership worker crashed it in a tunnel on the way to a motor show.
