Vivo’s X series is known for its camera performance, as it’s given us some of the best camera smartphones lately. The upcoming phones will continue the trend, and you can expect them to excel in this department. The best performer will be the Vivo X100 Ultra, given it will be the most powerful and expensive among the lot.

The Vivo X100 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The phone’s camera details have also leaked (via FoneArena), suggesting a powerful setup. Its highlight will be a 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto sensor with a size of 1/1.4-inch, the largest telephoto on a smartphone. The sensor will have an aperture of f/2.67 and a physical focal length of 22.48mm. A high-pixel camera mode will allow it to capture at 12888 x 16320 resolution. Zeiss has also handed its expertise to the VARIO APO SONNAR periscope lens, having a variable aperture of/1.75 to f/2.67, and a focal length ranging from 14mm to 85mm.

For the primary lens, Vivo has used Sony’s recently launched 50MP LYT-900 sensor, which has a 1-inch sensor size. Consider it a more refined version of the Sony IMX989. The same lens can also be found on two recent camera powerhouses, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Additionally, the Vivo X100 Ultra will feature a CIPA 4.5 level gimbal stabilization, to help with features like “night portraits”, “high-speed sports”, and “extreme macro”.

The Vivo X100s Series Is Also Coming

Alongside the Vivo X100 Ultra, the company will also unveil the X100s and the X100s Pro. The basic design of these smartphones appears similar to the X100 Ultra, or to all of Vivo’s recent flagships.

We also have some info on the specs of the X100s and X100s Pro. Both the handsets will be powered by the freshly announced MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC. On the front, we will see a flat 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution. The battery capacity of the phones remains unknown, but both will get UFSC-integrated fast charging at up to 120W.

UFSC, in case you’re unaware, is a new universal charging standard developed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), along with smartphone makers like Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo. This is a good step since all Chinese smartphone companies have their proprietary charging technology, and you can’t benefit from fast charging when using a charger from some other OEM.

Vivo’s official Weibo account has also revealed a new AI effect for the cameras which allows changing the seasons in the portraits, like in the images below.
