Vehicle fire at Hiseville Auto Parts destroys fuel pumps and leaves man with burns – WBKO

HISEVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – A vehicle fire occurred at Hiseville Parts City Auto Parts on Sunday, leaving several fuel pumps destroyed and a man with burns.

In a statement that Chief of Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department Dustin Phillips sent WBKO, HVFD and the Cave City Fire Department extinguished the fire that began when a 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck “caught fire while attempting to refuel at the store.”

He said that the vehicle and two fuel pumps were destroyed and that the building did not sustain any damage.

However, the driver of the truck, Jimmy Waters of Knob Lick, Kentucky was taken by personal means to TJ Samson Regional Hospital in Glasgow and then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He is being treated for burns sustained while trying to self-extinguish the fire.

Phillips said the store will remain open for business but fuel sales will be halted until the pumps are replaced.
