Two break-ins at local auto repair shop in Akron – Cleveland 19 News

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) -Police are investigating two separate break-ins at an auto repair business. The shop is located on Main Street in Akron.

Surveillance video captured a man inside Stan’s Auto Service Sunday, April 28.

“Chipped away at the wall and knocked out center blocks and crawled into the building,” said manager Erica Hudak.

The crook chizzled his way into the building and crawled through the hole.

“Never seen anything like that before,” said Hudak.

The hole led him into the mechanics area. He couldn’t leave out the lobby door, so he left the building through the hole.

Despite the damage, Hudak says the man didn’t take anything.

“Small food items are the best we could figure. I don’t know if they got in and got frustrated because they couldn’t get out and had to crawl back through the hole,” said Hudak.

This isn’t the first incident at Stan’s Auto Service. 19 News was at the shop earlier this month.

“We’re out here working as hard as we can and this keeping happening,” said Hudak.

In March, another guy was caught on camera stealing tires from their tire tent. He cut through a fence.

He carried the tires up the hill.

“I think we need to start asking questions to our new mayor what can do to keep our businesses safe, can we increase patrol to look out for our city’s businesses,” said Hudak.
