We are still more than a month away from the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 launch. But we may already have our eyes on the official wallpapers for one or both of Samsung‘s upcoming foldables. These purported foldable wallpapers come directly from the Korean firm but through an unexpected medium.
Samsung recently released the second One UI Watch 4.5 beta firmware for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It contained numerous bug fixes and improvements. Along with those, the new firmware also brought some new watch faces. But a couple of them are unlike the watch faces the company shipped with the first beta firmware. Based on the art, design, and color scheme of the patterns, they appear to be intended for foldable devices.
First spotted by Twitter user @GaryeonHan, the images look more like the official wallpapers for Samsung’s past foldable devices than wat faces for its smartwatches. Maybe the company inadvertently shipped the wallpapers intended for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 to the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The Korean firm has been shipping its foldable devices with new interpretations of the identical wallpaper design. The leaked images somewhat match that theme.
Unfortunately, the images that we have today are of too low resolution. But if they are what we are assuming them to be, we should be seeing more of them shortly. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will likely go official in the second week of August. We expect the official wallpapers for the two foldables to leak ahead of that, much like everything else about the phones.
Samsung has failed miserably to prevent Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 leaks
Leaks have become part of the smartphone industry. Pretty much every new smartphone that comes to the market ends up on the internet much before its release. The vast supply chain network makes it impossible to prevent leaks, as someone or the other opens the backdoor at some point. But Samsung may be the worst hit of the lot. It’s unclear if the company is not trying to prevent the leaks or doesn’t even care, but hardly anything about its new devices remains unknown until the end.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are still quite far from launch but we know pretty much everything we need to know about the new foldables. And we expect to see more of these tiny bits of things about them in the coming weeks. We will keep you posted.
