As automakers develop vehicles that can drive themselves, a new survey shows driver acceptance remains a big hurdle. Gary Bubar is a Traffic Safety Specialist with AAA of Michigan and told us more.

The annual survey of automated vehicles across the country found similar to results to what we have had in the pas, and those are that we really don’t necessarily trust the technology just yet,” Bubar said.

The latest study shows that 66% of drivers are afraid of automated vehicles, 25% are unsure, and 9% like the idea. The majority of drivers, however, do like automated safety systems that can intervene and prevent a crash.
