WARSAW — Purdue Extension will be offering a two-session educational program designed to help adults gain confidence and proficiency in using smartphones and tablets.
The “Smartphone and Tablet Basics” program will provide participants with essential knowledge to effectively navigate and maximize the use of their mobile devices.
The program is specifically tailored to adults who may be unfamiliar with mobile technology or those looking to refresh their skills. Participants will learn how to:
- Navigate device settings and features
- Maintain and use password management
- In-Case of Emergency (ICE) contacts
- How to connect to Wi-Fi
- Download and manage apps
- Use communication tools such as text messaging, emails and video calls
- Safely browse the internet and protect their personal information online
- Camera basics
The “Smartphone and Tablet Basics” program will be led by Purdue Extension Health and Human Sciences educator Shannon Shepherd at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 and June 3, at the Warsaw Community Public Library, 310 E. Main St., Warsaw.
“With smartphones and tablets becoming integral to daily life, it’s essential that everyone, regardless of their experience level, has the knowledge and skills to use them confidently,” said Shepherd. “This program is designed to make technology more accessible and empower participants to take full advantage of the many tools and resources available at their fingertips.”
There is no cost to attend the program, but preregistration is required to ensure adequate materials and space. To register or for more information, call the extension office at (574) 372-2340 by Tuesday, May 20.
