A six car pileup along Route 222 in Wyomissing Friday afternoon resulted in one person being taken to the hospital, according to the Wyomissing police.
The accident was reported shortly before noon in the area of the Berkshire Boulevard overpass.
One person was trapped and was freed from the wreckage, according to emergency reports.
Multiple minor injuries were reported.
Wyomissing police said the pileup involved six vehicles, including a box truck.
Pictures posted to Facebook show a box truck with damage to its front end, and another vehicle mangled and completely destroyed.
One patient was taken to Reading Hospital, police said.
Two lanes of Route 222 were shut down, with one lane remaining open, according to police.
