Samsung’s Skinniest Phone Survived the Bend Test?! You Bet It Did

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has found its way to the hands of Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, which means its durability got tested. Spoiler alert, the Galaxy S25 Edge managed to survive the tests, even the bend test!

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge survived a series of durability tests, including a bend test

The Galaxy S25 Edge is an extremely thin phone, it measures only 5.8mm. A titanium frame seems to have saved the device when it comes to the bend test, but we’ll talk about that in a second.

We’ll talk about all the tests that Zack conducted, and you can check out his full video below the article. It has been embedded. A series of tests have been conducted, as per usual, starting with the display scratch test.

The Galaxy S25 Edge’s display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 from Corning. That glass protection still scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at a level 7 (pick), just as the Gorilla Victus 2, for example.

The phone’s buttons are easily removable

The buttons are easily removable, while glass is placed on the back of the phone. In fact, Samsung used Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back of the phone. It’s also worth noting that the phone’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is placed under the display, was able to scan a fingerprint without a problem even when the display above it got severely scratched.

Even after 30 seconds of being exposed to flame from a lighter, there was no visible damage to the display. The last test that Zack performed is the bend test, as is usually the case when it comes to smartphones he tests.

A titanium frame seems to have saved the phone during the bend test

When he tried to break it from the back, only a minor flex was possible, that’s it. When he did it from the other side, the back panel did start to separate slightly. Following that, it reverted back to its original position afterwards. Do note that this broke the water resistance rating, but the phone was just fine after it.

A titanium frame definitely saved the Galaxy S25 Edge in the bend test, which is actually nice to see. This phone seems to be quite tough despite its extreme slimness.
