Galaxy S25 Edge: In summary
- The S25 Edge is the upcoming fourth model in Samsung’s flagship phone range, with its unique selling point being its thin and light design
- After some delays, it’s expected to get an official launch on 13 May and we expect it will go on sale soon after
- Key specs include a 200Mp main camera, a large OLED screen, but a small battery due to the design
Although most of the Galaxy S25 series of phones have been on sale for months, the wait for the S25 Edge model goes on.
This brand-new addition to the line-up was teased alongside its siblings, but Samsung has been very quiet about its new baby since then.
The main idea here is that it provides a very slim design, for modern smartphone standards anyway, and is likely one of the first in a new trend of slender phones.
It seems they will typically be called ‘Air’, like the rumoured iPhone 17 Air, but Samsung is going with Edge for now, which is the first time it’s used this name since the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016. Back then, it meant the screen had curved sides.
There might not be long to wait for the official S25 Edge launch announcement, but here’s everything we know so far, including rumours and expert predictions on the release date, price and specs.
When will the Galaxy S25 Edge be released?
In summary
- Rumoured to launch officially on 13 May, following delays
- On sale by the end of May
- Tipped to miss out on US carrier availability
The Galaxy S25 Edge is an unusual phone. While it was announced alongside the other Galaxy S25 models back at Samsung’s Unpacked event in January, we’ve been waiting for it ever since.
Back then, Samsung only teased the device and said very little about it – perhaps in an attempt to create some mystery and hype. A similar thing happened with the Galaxy Ring.
The phone has been shown off in dummy type form at events like MWC 2025 and it was generally agreed that it would launch in April.
However, delays meant it was pushed back to May or June, but we now know, almost certainly, that it will get its proper launch on 13 May, thanks to two reliable sources.
Whether this is in the form of an online Unpacked event or simply a blog post is unclear, but we think Samsung will want to make a big deal of this new model, so some kind of event would make more sense.
It’s thought the phone will be on sale globally by the end of May.
A big question is whether the S25 Edge will get a US release, with evleaks in particular stating it “will almost certainly not be offered through US carriers”.

How much will the Galaxy S25 Edge cost?
In summary
- Samsung let slip that it will cost $1,678 in Canada
- Rumoured to sit between the S25+ and S25 Ultra with a starting price around £1,200/$1,200
While we wait for the full official pricing for the S25 Edge in the UK and US, Samsung accidentally gave away how much it will cost in Canada on its own website.
Here it revealed (now removed) that it will cost CAD$1,678 (roughly £900/$1,200) for the 256GB capacity, while the 512GB will be CAD$1,858 (around £1,010/$1,350).
Those UK and US prices are via currency conversion, so may not be accurate. In fact, it will likely be more expensive than those figures, with Evan Blass (Evleaks) suggesting it will sit “between the S25 Plus and Ultra”.
They cost £999/$999.99 and £1,249/$1,299.99 respectively to give you the ball park. This matches up with other reports from reliable sources, which say it will be between €1,200 and €1,300 for the 256GB model in Europe.

What will the Galaxy S25 Edge specs be?
In summary
- The S25 Edge design highlight is the thin profile, rumoured to be as little as 5.8mm thick, with materials including titanium and three colourways
- Should feature a 200Mp rear camera will be complemented by a 12Mp ultrawide camera
- The screen is flat, unlike old ‘edge’ devices from Samsung, and around 6.7-inch with an OLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate
- The thin design means the battery is smaller than most phones at a rumoured 3900mAh and with slower charging than the S25 Ultra
Design & Build
Though the phone has some interesting specs, the design is the most important thing about the S25 Edge and the main reason to buy it.
If you’ve been longing for a thinner Galaxy flagship, then your dream has come true as the S25 Edge is rumoured to be as thin as 5.84mm, though 6.4mm has also been a tipped figure.
For comparison, the S25 is 7.2mm and the S25 Ultra is 8.2mm and is should also be IP68 dust and water resistant.

The Sinza
Either way, it’s not much thicker than a USB-C port which the phone does have although in a wonky placement so Samsung hasn’t gone portless yet. Of course, it’s also lightweight at reportedly just 163g, when so many phones are close to or over 200g.
It’s widely agreed that the S25 Edge will have a titanium frame along with a ceramic back and front made from Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 in both cases.
There will be three colours to choose from: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jet Black.
Two accessories have already surfaced: a silicone case and a Kindsuit Case. The latter is expected to feature an inner liner, much like previous versions.
In an interview with TechRadar, Samsung’s Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing in the UK, Annika Bizon, explained that the phone’s stunning form factor would not come at the expense of durability:
“I can’t say too much, but what I will say is that [the Edge] is about beautiful form factor. And there are two points I want to make. One is that it’s absolutely stunning. And if you think about the technology that’s going into that size of space, it’s pretty impressive. The second thing I’ll say concerns durability. With anything slim, durability has to come as part of the package. Those are the two features that are exciting for us. Well, I know durability isn’t exciting – but it’s really important. So watch this space, because there are some exciting things to come regarding this phone.”

Battery & Charging
The thin design of the S25 Edge impacts, as you might imagine, the size of the battery which is widely rumoured to be 3900mAh.
That’s small compared to almost any modern smartphone though it’s only 100mAh off the regular Galaxy S25. It would be nice to have seen Samsung use modern SiC (silicon carbon) battery tech to fit a larger battery in the same space (like the OnePlus 13) but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
We expect we’ll have to wait for the Galaxy S26 series for this upgrade.
Another downside here is that the S25 Edge is thought to have 25W wired charging and possibly no wireless at all. That’s slower than the S25 Ultra’s 45W charging but matches the regular model.
It’s a worrying combination of things and could make the phone difficult to recommend, especially with the expected price.

Screen
The scree on the S25 Edge is nothing overly exciting. As mentioned already, it no longer means the phone has curved edges despite that being Samsung’s previous usage.
Various reports peg the display at around 6.7-inch with a very slim bezel, very similar to the Galaxy S25+ in size.
It it very likely to use an OLED panel with a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. We expect it will offer an in-screen fingerprint scanner though it might not be ultrasonic like the other S25 models.

Cameras
We know the Galaxy S25 Edge will only come with two rear cameras, along with a punch-hole selfie camera.
It seems pretty certain that the main camera will be 200Mp, just like the S25 Ultra, and the other rear-facing camera will be a 12Mp ultrawide.
At a rumoured 12Mp 1/3.2-inch sensor, the selfie camera appears to be the same as the rest of the S25 family.
Performance
It will come as little surprise that the S25 Edge is expected to be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as its stablemates – likely the overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ version.
This will be paired with 12GB of RAM, no matter which model you pic,k and the choice looks like it will simply be 256- or 512GB of storage (no 1TB option like the Ultra).
Other things about the S25 Edge expected or easy to predict include the inclusion of Android 15 with One UI 7, stereo speakers and Wi-Fi 7.
