realme Plans to Drop a 7,500mAh Battery Phone by Year’s End

realme just took the stage in Paris to unveil its newest smartphones: the GT 7 and GT 7T. But it’s not just about refreshed designs or faster processors this time — realme is putting all its chips on battery supremacy. And if their latest numbers are any indication, they’re dead serious.

We sat down with realme after the launch to dig into what’s really driving this push. Why a massive 7,000mAh battery on the GT 7? According to the company, it’s part of a larger strategy: realme doesn’t want to be known just for great value or fast charging anymore — it wants to be the brand associated with battery innovation. Just like how OPPO and vivo are often praised for their camera advancements, realme wants to dominate the battery conversation.

It’s a logical evolution. The GT 7 Pro, announced late last year, already packs a 6,500mAh battery. Fast forward just a few months, and now we have a phone with a 7,000mAh cell and 120W fast charging. realme claims this is the best battery + charging combo in the industry right now — and honestly, it’s hard to argue with that.

Sure, the brand hasn’t topped its own record for raw charging speed — the GT 3’s 240W charging still holds that crown — but 120W is still well above most of the competition, even beating out its cousins at OPPO and OnePlus.

But realme isn’t done. The company confirmed that a phone with a 7,500mAh battery is coming before the end of 2025. All signs point to the GT 8 Pro, which should arrive this fall, likely after Qualcomm unveils its next-gen Snapdragon chip at the annual Snapdragon Summit in late September.

The bigger picture here is that realme is taking a different path from its rivals. While some brands obsess over shrinking devices or cramming in massive camera sensors, realme is choosing to keep phones reasonably sized while packing in bigger and better batteries. And with the GT 7 already delivering what might be the best battery life we’ve ever tested, the GT 8 Pro could raise the bar even higher.

If battery life is your top priority, keep your eye on realme — they’re just getting started.
