Adobe has finally launched the Photoshop app for Android devices in the Google Play Store. Adobe has released the app’s Android counterpart more than three months after launching it for iOS devices in February. With the new popular photo editing app for Android, users can access a lot of Adobe’s new tools in a mobile format.
Android users can enjoy premium Photoshop features for free for a limited period
Adobe has packed its Photoshop app for Android devices with powerful tools that are ready for on-the-go image editing. The app brings desktop-level tools alongside some cool generative AI tricks on mobile devices. Adobe has currently launched the app in the beta version for Android.
During the initial beta period, all premium Photoshop features, like core tools including selections, layers, masks, and the exclusive Tap select features, are available for free to Android users. The beta period likely won’t last long, and the company will offer some of the premium features behind a subscription.
Photoshop app features for Android
Adobe is offering most of the image editing tools for Android devices with its app, including the growing library of free Adobe Stock assets. You can use the app to merge and blend photos utilizing core tools like selections, layers, and masks. It offers quick removal or replacement of parts of a photo with the Tap Select tool. Furthermore, you can delete distractions in images in a matter of seconds using the Spot Healing Brush tool.
Adobe has equipped the Photoshop app with Firefly-powered generative AI features. It has AI-generated art and the Generative Fill app, which lets you add or transform elements in visual designs. You can also make accurate selections in the photos using Object Select and Magic Wand.

To use the Photoshop app, you’ll need a device running Android 11 or higher. Also, another requirement to use the app is a minimum of 6GB of RAM. Adobe recommends that you use 6GB of RAM or more for optimal performance. As of now, it’s not clear how much Adobe will charge the Android users for the app. The app’s paid subscription for iOS is available for $7.99/month or $69.99/year.
