When talking about AI companies, we typically focus on Google and OpenAI. However, those two aren’t the only fish in the pond. Perplexity is another company out to revolutionize the AI landscape, and it released something that pits it against Google in several ways. The company released Perplexity Labs, a suite of tools that leverage AI to help greatly increase productivity.
This California-based company falls under the radar much of the time whenever Google or OpenAI announces new tools. However, it’s one of the most ambitious AI companies out there. A few months ago, we got word that it was working on an AI browser called Comet. Also, the company has been working on AI that can pilot your computer for you. So, we can’t say that Perplexity is not an ambitious company.
Perplexity releases Perplexity Labs, a powerful suite of tools
We’ve witnessed several phases in the AI industry since ChatGPT’s release. At first, it was about building one specific product. However, it’s now all about building an ecosystem of services that all run on AI. Google has successfully done this with Gemini, and Microsoft is in the same boat with Copilot.
Now, it’s Perplexity’s turn. If you’re signed up for the company’s $20/month Pro plan, you’ll have access to Perplexity Labs. With it, you get access to tools that can make spreadsheets, search the web, create reports, generate web apps, create code, and much more.
Depending on the type of work that you do, this could be your best friend. Not only can it create documents, but it can also conduct research. Right now, several AI companies are crafting tools that can do research for you. Perplexity is not far behind, as Labs can conduct research and analysis in around 10 minutes.
If you’re excited to test out this powerful Suite, it is currently available for web, Android, and iOS. The company will soon launch it for Windows and Mac computers.
Perplexity Labs and other services from the company do a great job of justifying the $20/ month Pro plan. Initially, the company only offered an AI browser, so there wasn’t much to entice people to pay monthly. However, with its ambitious plans and services coming, there’s much more that the company can offer. For example, it acquired a social media network called Read.VC. There’s plenty coming down the pipeline for Perplexity users, and we’re all excited for it.
