OnePlus Pad 3 Tries to Be the iPad for Android Nerds — And Kinda Nails It

OnePlus has finally taken the wraps off the Pad 3, after teasing it for a few weeks. And this is the first tablet using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

OnePlus calls the Pad 3 “2025’s must-have tablet,” and after spending almost a week with it, I have to agree. It’s a powerful tablet with some really good software. Of course, OnePlus’ Open Canvas software is here, which first debuted on the Open back in 2023. Which is really great on this 13.2-inch 7:5 aspect ratio display. Open Canvas lets you open apps side-by-side and even have a picture-in-picture window.

OnePlus Pad 3 will be available in two colors

OnePlus will sell the Pad 3 in two colors; however, here in the US, we will only get Storm Blue. While the Frosted Silver color will be available in India.

OnePlus has also included some really impressive speakers on the Pad 3. There are 8 speakers here, four woofers and four tweeters, which sound absolutely amazing. Making this a really incredible tablet for consuming media.

Of course, we can’t forget about OnePlus’ Multi-Screen features. Using the O+ Connect software, you can use the OnePlus Pad 3 as a secondary display for your Mac, as well as a remote desktop. You can also quickly share pictures and videos with iPhones and Macs. Making this a great tablet for those who are in the Apple ecosystem too.

OnePlus will provide three Android OS updates for the Pad 3. That means Android 16, Android 17 and Android 18. It will also get six year of security updates. That’s an extra two years versus the OnePlus Pad 2.
