Spec leaks for a pair of new phones may have just given us an insight into the OnePlus Nord 5, which could be one of the most exciting mid-range smartphones of 2025.
OnePlus will announce two new phones in China on 27 May, in the shape of the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing and the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra. Now both of those phones have appeared at China’s TENAA certification agency.
Along with these appearances come a list of specifications. Given that the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing, in particular, is tipped to be repurposed as the OnePlus Nord 5 here in the West, they’re well worth a closer look.
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing specs
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing features a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 2392 x 1080 resolution. That’s a little bigger but less sharp than the OnePlus Nord 4 and its 6.74-inch 2772 x 1240 screen.
It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chip, which would seemingly mark an upgrade on the OnePlus Nord 4’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. There’ll be 12 or 16GB of RAM to back this up, along with either 256 or 512GB of storage.
There’s a 50MP main camera around back, accompanied by an unspecified 2MP assistant sensor. Given that the Nord 4 had an 8MP ultrawide, this would appear to be a rollback. You also get a 16MP selfie camera.
One of the biggest specs here is a 7,000 mAh battery, which dwarfs the OnePlus Nord 4’s 5,500mAh cell – though Chinese phones don’t always keep hold of their huge batteries when they come over to Europe. 100W wired charging is a match for the Nord 4.
We also get the basic dimensions for the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing. At 163.58 x 76.02 x 8.27mm this is a slightly bigger phone, but it’s about the same weight as the Nord 4 at 199g.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra specs
As you’ll have noted, some of these specifications appear to represent backward steps from the OnePlus Nord 4, if indeed this phone is to be the OnePlus Nord 5.
Indeed, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra sounds more like the straight upgrade that we’d expect the OnePlus Nord 5 to be.
That includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera to accompany the 50MP main sensor (just like the Nord 4), a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a sharper 2800 x 1272 resolution, and an even more capable Dimensity 9400+ SoC.
The Ultra, too, has a 7,000mAh battery, though it’s a little heftier at 163.41 x 77.04 x 8.1mm and 206g. There’ll also be a 1TB storage option.
It seems likely that one of these phones is going to be rebadged as the OnePlus Nord 5 for the Western market. Based on these specs, though, we’re not entirely sure which one it will be. Perhaps it’ll be a combination of the two.
