Nintendo Switch 2 consoles back in stock at Amazon, but this deal may be better

If you haven’t yet pre-ordered your Nintendo Switch 2 console, don’t panic. Amazon has just confirmed that it now has this all-new portable games machine in stock, with some lucky customers even able to order today and get it delivered by tonight, June 5. Amazon now joins a very rare list of retailers who have the Switch 2 machines available, with Argos and Smyths the only other stores where Express.co.uk has spotted availability. Other shops such as Currys, Game and Very are all showing no stock available with many selling out long before today’s launch event.

Of course, those popping one in their online Amazon hopping basket will need at least £395.99 to take delivery of the Switch 2 – there’s also a £429.99 bundle that includes the exclusive Mario Kart World game as well.

It’s very expensive and if that sounds way too much for the bank balance to bear, there is another option. Amazon has also just slashed the price of the older Switch OLED.

This device features a 7-inch OLED panel, Joy-Con controllers, plus access to hundreds of games, and it now costs just £234.24 – that’s over £150 less than the Switch 2.

Of course, the Switch OLED doesn’t have a the same giant 7.9-inch display found on the new model and its not as powerful – you also won’t be able to play Switch 2 exclusive games – such as Mario Kart World – on it. However, this is still a top-rated machine that offers plenty of gaming fun for a fraction of the price.

Of course, the Switch 2 is now top dog when it comes to Nintendo consoles. It features a bigger 7.9-inch LCD screen, more power under its shell and extra in-built storage (256GB compared to 64GB on the OLED).

The famous Joy-Con controllers have also been vastly improved on the Switch 2, thanks to bigger buttons and can even be used just like a mouse on your desk for more ways to play.

There are also bonus features such as the GameChat button for interactive play, and a redesigned kickstart offers a better way to game on that bigger screen.

If you buy a Switch 2, you’ll be able to play almost all of your old Switch 1 games without any issues. There are also new titles such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza which are exclusive to this new device.
