Motorola Razr Plus 2024 Gets Android 15 — And It’s Not a Miracle This Time

Motorola has begun rolling out Android 15 to the Razr Plus 2024 in the US. Last month, Motorola began rolling this update out with limited availability, but now it is available to everyone. The Razr Plus 2024 began receiving the update on May 2. So, most of you should have the update by now.

The update should be just over 2GB in file size, which means you’ll want to make sure you have a decent amount of storage available for this update. Reddit users are also reporting that the version number is V2UX35.47-3.

You can check for the update by going into the Settings app, scrolling down to Software Update, and then tapping on Check for Update. At this point, you might have already received the notification that the update is ready to download.

This is a much quicker rollout than Razr Plus 2023

One of the biggest complaints about Motorola has been its slow updates. The company waited until July 2024 to roll out Android 14 to the Motorola Razr Plus 2023. Which was about 10 months after Google released the update. It also took until a few months ago for it to get Android 15. Surprisingly, it got updated before the 2024 model.

Now, we’re seeing the Razr Plus 2024 get the Android 15 update quicker, by about two months. That’s some good progress, but we still need faster updates from Motorola. Especially after all of the backlash Samsung is getting for its very delayed rollout of One UI 7.

For what it’s worth, Motorola does not promise seven years of updates like Google and Samsung. Instead, it promises three years of updates and four years of security patches.

The new Motorola Razr 2025 is due to start going up for pre-order later this week. So it’s just in time, considering the Razr Plus 2025 is getting its update to Android 15 right now.
