Well, folks! It’s time again for updates. This time around, the Galaxy S23 series is getting some love. Samsung is now rolling out the May 2025 update for the Galaxy S23 in the UAE and Indonesia. So, if you live in one of those areas, be on the lookout.
If you do not see the update yet, you will want to be patient. It may take a few days for you to receive the notification. However, if you want to manually check for an update, go to your settings, go down to the software update section, and tap “Download and install.” Then, your phone should do a search for any active updates.
Samsung is pushing the May update for the Galaxy S23 series
Even though these phones are two years old at this point, they are still very powerful and very usable. The Galaxy S23 phones were at the top of the charts back in 2023. So, if you are still rocking this device, this update will offer a slightly better experience.
Samsung didn’t bring any sweeping changes or new features with this update. This is a routine monthly update that offers the typical slew of changes.
The update has build numbers S916BXXS8DYDB / S916BOLE8DYDB / S916BXXS8DYDB, and it brings the security patch level up to May 1st, 2025. So, the update fixes a number of vulnerabilities in the software that would otherwise allow hackers to infiltrate your phone. Your phone is just a bit safer now.
Coming in at 468MB, it’s pretty hefty for a security patch. So, make sure you have enough storage to update your phone.
Along with the security fixes, there are also some stability and bug fixes. This will make the software run just a little bit smoother. Even though Samsung is already working on One UI 8, One UI 7 is still relatively new. So, there are probably still some bugs that need to be ironed out.
