Latest Sonos Roam 2 leak reveals a design similar to the original

The Sonos Roam 2 portable speaker has been roaming in the rumor mill for a while now. The audio product will arrive as the successor to the Sonos Roam, which launched around three years ago. Sonos will launch the next-generation Roam speaker in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, a new leak has revealed the Sonos Roam 2 speaker’s design from all angles.

The Sonos Roam 2 will be identical to its predecessor in terms of design

The Sonos Roam 2’s leaked images reveal that it will be an almost replica of the original in terms of design. One of the main differences between the two is that the brand’s logo will now match the speaker’s color. In addition, the Sonos Roam 2 will have two buttons on the back. One of those is a dedicated button for pairing with Bluetooth devices.

Thanks to the new button, users will connect their Roam 2 speakers with any phone or audio source easily. This will eliminate the process of setting up the speaker on the home Wi-Fi network using the Sonos app on your phone.

Unfortunately, the leak didn’t provide any details on the sonic capabilities of the next-gen Sonos Roam 2 speaker. Going by the leaked pictures, the new Roam speaker could be just an improved version of the original. It won’t be a completely new device.

As for the original Sonos Roam, it is a compact portable waterproof speaker. The device is resistant to accidental drops. The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled speaker can provide up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. The price of the Sonos Roam is $179. It is available in as many as five color variants.

The Roam 2 could launch alongside the brand’s first headphones

Sonos will soon debut in the highly competitive headphones category. The Sonos Ace will be the company’s first product in the category. The Sonos Roam 2 portable speaker and the Sonos Ace are expected to launch side-by-side at the same event.

Some images of the Sonos Ace premium headphones leaked recently. The headphones will feature detachable magnetic cushions, similar to Apple AirPods Max. The other highlights are expected to include Dynamic Head Tracking, Bluetooth 5.3, AptX Lossless, and 30 hours of battery life.
