iOS 16 update has a bug! iPhone users report unwanted 'allow paste' prompt, Apple responds – Economic Times

Soon after Apple rolled out its new system update, the iOS 16, several users across the world are reporting a bug with ‘copy and paste’ prompt. The new update was rolled out on September 12, days after Apple launched the new iPhone 14 series during the ‘Far Out’ event.

Several iPhone users are reporting facing weird behaviour on their Apple smartphone after the iOS 16 update rolled out which is throwing up a notification alert, asking for permission to paste the copied content from clipboard each time while using the tool. ‘Do you want to allow this?’ is the prompt that appears on screen each time the user tries to paste the copied content from clipboard.

Many found the prompt annoying as the OS should not push a prompt asking for permission to paste when that’s exactly the command that was chosen by the iPhone user. The permission prompt should appear when an app is trying to read content on the clipboard without user interaction. The ‘allow paste’ bug is turning the copy-paste feature into a tedious task for users.

Soon after thousands of iPhone users across the world started reporting the bug, Apple’s senior manager, Ron Huang, addressed the matter in a complaint raised by a
MacRumors reader, Kieran.

In his reply on the email, Huang accepted the erratic behaviour being reported after iOS 16 update is indeed a bug and the prompt shouldn’t appear each time a user tries to paste any content on the device.
