Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Ultimate Preview Guide

In addition to the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, Google will also announce the fourth Pixel 10 device this year. That fourth device will be the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the company’s new foldable smartphone. That will be the company’s third foldable phone, actually, following the Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which arrived in the last two years, 2023 and 2024, respectively.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be launching at the same time as its siblings, as was the case with its predecessor last year. Out of all the Pixel 10 smartphones, this one differs the most, of course. With that being said, some information about the device surface at this point, and we’re here to talk more about it. We’ll do our best to give you an idea of what to expect out of the phone. Let’s talk more about it.

This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. This is the initial publication of the article.

When will the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold be released?

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will launch alongside the other three smartphones from the series. We are still not sure when will that happen, but there are several options. The Google Pixel 9 series arrived in August last year, while the Pixel 8 series launched in October year prior. Believe it or not, the Pixel 10 series could be announced even sooner than last year’s models. Google could host a Pixel 10 event in late June, based on the latest report. Google teased some sort of a “Pixel devices” event in London for June 27. The company did not specifically mention the Pixel 10, though. So, if we had to guess, we’d either say late June or August in the US, it remains to be seen. Do note that we’re only guessing at this point.

What models are coming?

Google will be announcing four Pixel 10 models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. We’re here to talk specifically about the ‘Fold’ variant, though. So, nothing specific leaked out regarding its RAM and storage options. If we had to guess, based on what Google did last year, however, we’ll likely be getting a single RAM variant. The phone is expected to include 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. When it comes to storage, we’ll almost certainly get more than one storage model. Last year, 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 flash storage options were launched. We’re expecting the same this year, though we’re also hoping Google will finally jump from UFS 3.1 to UFS 4.0 storage. The storage will not be expandable.

How much will the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold cost?

The price tag of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may surprise you. Some of you would probably assume that Google will retain the same price tag as for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. As a reminder, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold was priced at $1,799 at launch, for its base 256GB storage option. The 512GB storage option of the device was priced at $1,919 in the US. Well, the price tag won’t be the same, but it also won’t be higher. We’ve exclusively revealed that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be more affordable than its predecessor. The phone will cost around $1,600, while the Pixel Fold model for 2026 will drop to just $1,499.

What will the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold look like?

When it comes to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold design, well, it’s not exactly a secret. We’ve exclusively revealed the design of the phone at the very end of March. We’ve shared CAD-based renders that showed off a phone that resembles the Pixel 9 Pro Fold quite a bit. Even the phone’s dimensions are expected to be very similar to those of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, more on that soon.

The design won’t change much

The phone will retain the same look of the camera island on the back, pretty much. You’ll get a camera island in the top-left corner, with two pill-shaped cutouts in it, one placed on top of the other. One of those will pack two cameras, and the other one camera. The LED flash will sit inside the camera island too, but next to the top pill-shaped cutout. The entire module will protrude on the back.

The back of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be flat, while its cover and main displays will be flat too. A centered display camera hole will sit on the cover display, while the bezels around the display will be uniform. They seemingly won’t be the thinnest on any foldable, but thin enough. Two physical buttons will be included on the phone, and both will sit on the right-hand side of the device. The power/lock key will be placed above the volume up and down buttons.

The size will remain basically the same

The phone’s main display will include a selfie camera too, in the top-right corner. A squarish main panel is expected, as was the case on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. CAD renders suggested dimensions of 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.3mm, which is slightly different than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Do note that those dimensions do tend to be a bit off, by around 0.1-0.3mm. The weight of the phone is still a mystery, but we do hope it will be lighter than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (257 grams).

What specs will the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold have?

What about its specs? Well, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be fueled by the Google Tensor G5 processor. That is the very first Tensor chip that will be manufactured by TSMC. The previous ones were made by Samsung. Some users out there are likely waiting for a TSMC-made chip in order to make the jump, as TSMC’s chips are considered superior. Many are expecting that the Tensor G5 will be on the same level as the competition from Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple. The thing is, the Tensor G5 may not be a lot more powerful, per se, but it will deliver improvements in the camera department and faster startup.

The Google Tensor G5 will run the show

That chip is expected to adopt a 1+5+2 CPU cluster. It will ship with one prime performance core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores. We’re expecting to see Cortex-A725 CPU cores for performance cores, and Cortex-A520 CPU cores for efficiency. MediaTek’s modem is tipped to be used as well.

We’re still not sure about the phone’s display sizes, but chances are they’ll remain the same, or be very similar. Why? Well, because of the dimensions and design of the phone. That probably means the main display will measure 6.3 inches, and the main one will be around 8 inches. Both of them will be OLED panels, and both will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will have a similar camera setup as last year’s model

The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumored to include a 50-megapixel main camera. It will use Samsung’s GN8 sensor, a 1/1.95-inch sensor. The Samsung 3J1 will be used for the ultrawide and telephoto cameras, while the Samsung 3K1 will be used for selfie cameras. In other words, Google is not expected to make hardware changes to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold cameras. Some new AI camera features could be included, however.

The battery capacity is a mystery at this point, as are the phone’s colors. Google could once again opt for Obsidian (Black) and Porcelain (White) colors. Android 16 will come pre-installed on the phone, Google’s new version of the Android OS. The phone could once again come with an IPX8 certification for water resistance.

Should you wait to buy the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold?

Based on everything we’ve seen thus far, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold won’t be much different than its predecessor. It may be more affordable, but the phone won’t change much. That goes for both its design and internals. Some new features may be added as part of Android 16, of course, but in terms of hardware itself, we’re not expecting to see many changes. More informaiton will surface moving forward, though, and it’s still early to tell whether it’s worth upgrading to.
