Google News probe ruling postponed in Brazil – MLex

( May 27, 2025, 20:08 GMT | Official Statement) — MLex Sumarry: The Brazilian competition authority’s Tribunal has canceled its May 28 ruling session due to personal matters involving the councilors. The session was set to include a reassessment, at the request of Councilor Camila Alves, of the administrative inquiry against Google, previously dismissed by the authority’s Superintendence. The case involves allegations that Google engaged in “scraping” journalistic content, potentially harming competition in the online news sector. The Tribunal was also scheduled to reanalyze a 2012 administrative proceeding involving companies in the textile industry.
