Huawei announced its new laptops in China last month, and their global variants are now official too, in addition to the Huawei Watch Fit 3 which we already wrote about. To be more specific, global Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook 14 models are official.
Huawei’s new ultrabook, the MateBook X Pro 2024, goes global
The Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 is particularly interesting. This is the company’s new ultrabook, and Huawei said it’s “lighter than light”. This thing weighs only 980 grams (2.16lbs), and measures only 13.5mm when folded. It’s lighter than basically all the competitors. Just to be clear, this is a 14.2-inch ultrabook.
That laptop has a huge trackpad, and it’s made out of metal. The bezels around the display are very minimal, and it comes in the Intel Ultra 9 (185H) and Intel Ultra 7 (155H) CPU variants. 16GB and 32GB RAM models are on offer, with plenty of storage.
The display on the front is a 14.2-inch 3120 x 2080 panel, and it supports touch input with up to 10 fingers at the same time. This is an OLED display, and it has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Its brightness goes up to 1,000 nits.
This ultrabook will set you back €1,999 in Europe
Huawei also included a 70Wh battery inside here, and this laptop supports 140W fast wired charging via its USB-C port. Its pricing is €1,999 in Europe for a 16GB RAM model with 1TB of storage. In the UK, the model with 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage will be available, and it will cost £2,099. It’s going on sale from June 4.
The MateBook 14 2024, on the other hand, is fueled by the 13th gen Intel Core i5/Core i7 CPU. It offers 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of storage. A 70Wh battery is included here as well.
This laptop weighs 1.31kg and comes in both Space Gray and Green colors. The Huawei MateBook 14 2024 will set you back €1,099. The Huawei MatePad 11.5”S tablet with PaperMatte display was also announced, and it’s priced at €399.
