Samsung has just teased the arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and… it managed to bring some confusion to the table. Why? Well, one could assume that the phone will be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra. Based on what was said.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra could become a reality, based on Samsung’s latest teaser
The company did not specifically mention the name. It did, however, promise the “Ultra” experience, while showing off a book-style foldable device in a video teaser. Due to the nature of the teaser, only a silhouette of the phone is visible, as you can see below.
In any case, the company said the following: “For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor.”
As you can see, Samsung clearly mentioned “an Ultra-experience”. The company also kind of also hinted that the phone will have bigger displays than last year’s model. That goes for both main and cover displays, and that’s something we expected.
Samsung mentioned the ‘Ultra’ part twice
Samsung also added the following: “With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.”
That is a second mention of a ‘Galaxy Ultra’ device, which does lead us to believe that the name of this phone will be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, not the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung could end up releasing both, and perhaps calling the top-end model Ultra? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but this is a bit of a surprise.
Either way, the phone is coming in early July, most probably. That’s the rumored launch timeframe. During that event, the second Unpacked event of the year, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will also launch. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE aka Z Flip FE is expected. The company’s first tri-fold smartphone will likely arrive later in the year. It will allegedly be limited to one or two markets (Korea and China).
