Fire in apartment parking garage damages cars, motorcycle in northeast Atlanta, fire department says – Atlanta News First


ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Authorities are investigating a suspicious early morning fire at a northeast Atlanta apartment complex, prompting a response from arson investigators.

The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment building on Morosgo Drive. Fire crews quickly responded and evacuated the building as a precaution.

According to officials, the fire was contained to the attached parking garage, where three vehicles and a motorcycle were damaged. Fortunately, the flames did not spread to the adjacent, attached residential units located above and beside the parking deck.

There have been no reports of injuries.

Morosgo Drive remains closed in both directions as investigators continue working the scene.

The apartment complex is equipped with an extensive surveillance system, which authorities are expected to review as part of their investigation.
