Bhopal: A 33-year-old woman was allegedly raped and blackmailed by her former classmate in Koh-e-Fiza. When the survivor’s husband caught the accused red-handed on Sunday, a fight broke out between them. During the fight, the survivor, her husband and the accused sustained multiple injuries.
Acting on the survivor’s complaint, the accused was arrested on charges of rape and assault while her husband was booked for assault at Koh-e-Fiza police station on Monday.
Police said that the survivor, a resident of Koh-e-Fiza locality, stated in her complaint that around 13 years back in 2008, the accused Rehan Khan, 39, a resident of Ginnori in Talaiya, approached her home on the pretext of studying. The survivor was a class 12 student then and the accused was her classmate. She alleged that the accused raped her threatening with dire consequences, and recorded an obscene video on his smartphone. Since then, he had been repeatedly raping her blackmailing that he would circulate the video on social media platforms to defame her.
Police said that on Sunday when the survivor’s husband was out and her two kids were sleeping in the other room, the accused approached her home and raped her again. When the accused was present at the survivor’s home, her husband arrived and a fight broke out between them after which she narrated her ordeal to husband. The accused, who works in the finance department of a private bank, was arrested and further investigations are underway in the case.
