
The Florida Senate confirmed David Genson, President of Development, Barron Collier Companies, to the Florida Transportation Commission. Mr. Genson, who was re-appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis, has served on the Florida Transportation Commission since 2018 and is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Commission. The role of the commission is to act as the citizen’s oversight board for the Florida Department of Transportation, including providing leadership in meeting Florida’s transportation needs through policy guidance and by maintaining oversight and public accountability for the Department of Transportation.
At BCC, Mr. Genson has been directly involved in the development of Ave Maria and its private water and wastewater utility service, Ave Maria Utility Company. He also oversees the engineering and environmental services divisions. “David’s experience and leadership in engineering and land development has provided tremendous value to Southwest Florida and across the State,” said BCC CEO, Blake Gable. “We are excited he will continue working on behalf of all Florida residents as our state’s transportation needs continue to expand.”
Mr. Genson has been in the engineering and land development field since 1993. He is a graduate of both Leadership Collier and Leadership Florida.
