CARS Tour driver Connor Hall of Hampton earns twin Late Model victories in return to Langley – The Virginian-Pilot

Connor Hall’s primary role in auto racing these days is to drive on the CARS Tour, one of the top feeder series for NASCAR’s upper echelon. But when he can, he still likes to try to dominate at his home track, Hampton’s Langley Speedway.

Saturday night, the former Langley champion did just that, winning twin Late Model 50-lappers in his first competition at the track this season.

In the opener, Hall won by 0.811 of a second over Greg Edwards in an 18-driver race that lasted just more than 16:20. Woody Howard was third, 3.805 seconds off the lead.

In the nightcap, which took just more than 14:20, Hall beat Ryan Matthews by 1.227 and third-place Ryley Music by 3.585.

Virginia Racers: Jacob Derrick zoomed to a 50-lap, 2.190-second victory over Ryley Music, who was 10th in the night’s first Late Model race. Ayden Millette took third, 3.471 behind the victor, in an event that lasted just more than 15 minutes.
Music had won the division’s first two races of the year.

Legends: Cody Carlton captured a 25-lap victory in a little more than 11 1/2 minutes, beating Charlie Beals by 468-thousandths of a second. Tommy Jackson, who won the previous two races of 2024, was third in the field of 12, just 0.564 off the lead.

Pro Six: Travis Wall tends to dominate this division, and he posted his second victory of the season by 0.541 of a second over Atley Weise. It took just less than 19 1/2 minutes, and none of the other five competitors was within 16 seconds of the lead.

Super Street: Points leader Dale Nichols gained his second victory in three tries this year, winning a 40-lap race with 16 competitors.
Sammy Gaita was second and rookie Jacob Wood third.

Super Truck: Points leader Chase McAdams rolled to victory over 25 laps and more than 35:23, with runner-up Paige Cain 448-thousandths of a second behind. Bill Wallace took third in the field of 13, 5.326 seconds behind McAdams, who has won two of the division’s three races this year.

Champ Kart: Jordan Valdes won a 20-lap thriller by 47-thousandths of a second over Ryan Hudgins, the runner-up among seven racers. It was Valdes’ second victory in three events this year. Jimmy Carr was a distant third, 1.421 seconds off the lead, in a race that took just more than 7:22.
