The Galaxy S25 Edge is an engineering marvel
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge exists for one reason: to be thin and lightweight. There are buyers out there that want a flagship phone, but not the flagship thickness and weight. And that’s where the Galaxy S25 Edge comes in. It’s not a brick like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, in fact, it is only 5.8mm thin. That does, just barely, make it Samsung’s thinnest phone ever. Beating out the Galaxy A8 from 2015 which was 5.9mm.
It does have the same 6.7-inch QHD+ display as the Galaxy S25 Plus, and that means it doesn’t have Corning’s Gorilla Glass Armor 2. But it is the first phone to use Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. It does have the same 200-megapixel primary camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor from the Galaxy S25 Plus. Internally, is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. It also has a pretty small 3,900mAh capacity battery. Which Samsung says should do better than the Galaxy S24 but just a tad worse than the Galaxy S25. That’s the base S25 not the Ultra.
It’s an interesting device, and if you’re thinking about buying it, you should definitely think about buying directly from Samsung.
