Best of Computex 2025: HP OmniBook 5 Series

Computex, the biggest PC-based trade show in the world, commenced this week in Taipei. And there were many announcements made from many different companies like HP, NVIDIA, AMD, and many more. The HP OmniBook 5 Series was one of the products announced at Computex that caught our eye, and we awarded it a Best of Computex 2025 award.

The HP OmniBook 5 Series stands out due to its exceptional blend of performance, battery life, AI integration, and affordability. It has incredible battery life, offering up to 34 hours of battery life. That actually sets a new benchmark for consumer AI laptops. Of course, when you do need to charge it, HP didn’t skimp there either, with a 50% charge taking just 30 minutes to achieve, thanks to a pretty small 65W adapter.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X powers the OmniBook 5 Series

The HP OmniBook 5 Series continues Qualcomm’s push into more and more laptops. This series sports the Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus chips. These offer a 45 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which offers incredible AI performance. This is great since they do support Microsoft’s CoPilot+ features, like Recall, Click-to-Do, and Cocreator in Paint.

HP is offering the OmniBook 5 series in two sizes – 14 and 16 inches. These both feature 2K OLED displays and come in a sleek Glacier Silver aluminum chassis.

One of the main advantages of using Snapdragon X for processing is the battery life, as well as the weight of the laptop. And the HP OmniBook 5 Series is also very lightweight, coming in at 1.29kg for the 14-inch and 1.58kg for the 16-inch.

Finally, the HP OmniBook 5 Series is priced pretty aggressively, starting at $799. That makes it pretty impressive, and a big reason why it was worthy of our Best of Computex Award for 2025.
