Tata Motors sold 70,187 units in May 2025, witnessing a downtick in sales by 8 per cent compared to May 2024, when it sold 76,766 units. These figures combination of passenger vehicles (PVs) and commercial vehicles (CVs), both in domestic and export markets.
In the domestic market, Tata Motors sold 41,557 PVs, 11 per cent lower than May 2024’s 46,697 units. Its exports of PVs increased by 28 per cent, from 378 units in May 2024 to 483 units in May 2025. It sold 5,685 electric vehicles (EVs) last month, which is just 2 per cent more than May 2024’s 5,558 units.
In the CV space, Tata Motors saw less decline in sales compared to its PVs. In May 2025, it sold 28,147 units, which was 5 per cent lower than the 29,691 units sold in May 2024. While domestic sales of its CVs declined by 9 per cent, from 28,476 units in May 2024 to 25,872 units in May 2025, exports of its CVs shot up by a massive 87 per cent. Tata Motors sent out 2,275 units last month, while it exported 1,215 units in May last year.
