Apple’s latest product launch is a new Apple Watch Sport Band, part of this year’s Pride Month celebrations. The band is available to order now, and will soon be accompanied by a watch face.

Also coming soon are Pride wallpaper updates for the iPhone and iPad — almost certainly coming with iOS 18.5 and iPad 18.5 releases. You can read when these will be here.
A new watch band for Pride is a regular occurrence at this time of year (you can read about the first four years’ releases here) though which band changes regularly. Last year it was an eye-poppingly bright Braided Solo Loop.
This time around Apple has plumped for the popular Sport Band, the supple and comfortable fluor elastomer material Apple has used since the Apple Watch first launched ten years ago.
Sometimes, the Watch Band matches the new watch face so perfectly that stripes, for instance, seem to slide off the band onto the screen. That’s not possible this year because each band has a different look.
“Featuring a tapestry of rainbow stripes that vary in shape and size, each Pride Edition Sport Band is assembled by hand from individual stripes of vibrant color that are compression-molded together, creating subtle yet striking variations. No two bands are exactly alike, reflecting the individuality of all members of the LGBTQ+ community,” Apple says in its announcement of the Pride month celebration.
The complementary watch face, likely coming with watchOS 11.5, has blocks of colors which change throughout the day to become chunky numerals showing the hour, while analog hands show the time.
Apple’s wallpaper and watch faces, plus the Apple Watch band are all part of the company’s actions, “to celebrate the strength and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities around the world,” it says.
In addition, Apple also supports organizations financially which serve the LGBTQ+ communities — this is also a regular part of its support of Pride Month.
