Apple has quietly upped the price of its Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader in the UK, with the accessory now priced at £35, compared to the previous selling price of £29.

With the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, users can download photos and videos from their digital camera to their iPad or iPhone to be viewed in the Photos app.

After the camera’s SD card is inserted into the reader, the user’s iPad or iPhone automatically opens the Photos app, allowing for all or only selected images and videos to be imported, and then optionally deleted from the SD card when the import has been completed.

The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, and SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4. It supports data transfer at up to USB 3 speeds on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st and 2nd generation) and 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and up to USB 2 speeds on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and all other iPad and iPhone models.

Apple also offers a USB-C version of the camera reader, although this accessory hasn’t seen any price increase in the UK, with the adapter still priced at £39.
