OnePlus introduced ‘OnePlus AI’, its new brand name for AI features on OnePlus smartphones, earlier today. In addition, the company has also revealed that select OnePlus apps will soon be getting a deep integration with Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence assistant. Samsung debuted deeper integration with Gemini with the Galaxy S25 series, while Xiaomi followed up a few months later. Now, OnePlus is making a similar move.
Select OnePlus apps in OxygenOS, like Notes, will get deep Gemini integration
OnePlus has announced that users of its devices will soon be able to use Gemini with both Google apps and select OnePlus apps. In a media briefing, the company revealed that OnePlus apps such as “OnePlus Notes, Clock, and more” will get a deep integration with Gemini.
The Chinese smartphone maker also provided us with a few examples of what OnePlus apps could do with Gemini integration. In one example, the brand showed that users can ask Gemini to summarize a recipe from a YouTube video into a note. Furthermore, OnePlus users can ask Gemini to place an alarm based on an upcoming calendar event. While these seem like small changes, the deeper integration with the OnePlus apps will allow Gemini to recognize commands and turn them into action.
It’s worth mentioning that OnePlus is also actively developing a suite of tools leveraging OnePlus AI. That includes AI VoiceScribe, AI Call Assistant, AI Translation, AI Search, AI Reframe, and AI Best Face 2.0.
These features are launching soon with the OnePlus 13s
OnePlus will initially offer a deep Gemini integration via a software update for the new OnePlus 13s smartphone. However, it’s unclear if or when OnePlus will offer these features to its older smartphones. Apart from OnePlus, more phone brands like HONOR and OPPO will also offer a deeper integration with Gemini inside their native applications in the future.
