A classic Dungeons & Dragons game from yesteryear is finally returning, as it was confirmed that Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition is revamping the game on PC and bringing it to console for the first time.
The Neverwinter Nights series has always stood in the shadow of the more highly-acclaimed Baldur’s Gate franchise, to an unfair degree, as it produced some excellent games and expansions. The first game also had an expansive creative mode, which people still tinker with to this day.

After being leaked by SteamDB earlier in the year, it has now been confirmed that Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition exists, and it’s coming soon. This was revealed during the PC Gaming Show 2025, with a trailer available on the official PC Gamer YouTube channel.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition is Coming Soon
Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition is coming to PC via Steam, PS5, GoG, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on July 15th, with pre-orders available now.
So, what makes it enhanced? According to the trailer, Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition contains improved graphics, connection to the Steam Workshop, Steam Deck and controller support, and it contains all of the DLC along with the base game.
While Neverwinter Nights 2 launched in 2006, the gameplay systems will mostly be familiar to Baldur’s Gate 3 players. This is due to it using the 3rd edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset, which is surprisingly similar to the 5th edition rules from Baldur’s Gate 3. The base game also features plenty of Gith for players to fight.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is a highly-underrated RPG, which is likely due to how it was restricted to PC for the longest time, and could be a pain to play on modern systems. Now, with the remaster on the way, it’s time for this adventure in the Forgotten Realms to take the spotlight.
