Chase Burrow Claims First zMAX CARS Tour Win at Langley – Racing America

Former Langley Speedway track champion Matt Waltz qualified on the pole at his home track, quicker than the traveling CARS Tour stars. Landen Lewis jumped out to the lead at the green flag, but mechanical issues sidelined him shortly after the rain delay.

Waltz went on to finish third, a solid showing after a qualifying effort that even surprised him.

“We’re glad to get the pole today,” said Waltz. “It was a little unexpected for me. We had a really good driving race car. We just didn’t know what kind of raw speed it was going to have. We were definitely excited to get us a pole, our first CARS Tour pole.

“The race just fired off, we were really good and just kind of riding the first bit. As we went on, the car tightened up on us a little bit. It was all we could do, all I could do there to just hang on, just keep it turning enough where I could stay up there.”

Tristan McKee finished fourth, while Chad McCumbee rounded out the top five.

The zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars return to action on Saturday, June 14 with another trip to Virginia at Dominion Raceway.
