This has been a long time coming, since the Brazilian Real has seen a 15-20% devaluation against the U.S. dollar in the last couple of years. But today, Apple announced it will be readjusting a few of subscription prices in the country.
Up to 34% more expensive
As usual, Apple has not commented on its reasoning for the price hikes. But in practice, as noted by iHelpBR, prices increased between 20% and 34% across the board, likely to reflect the current exchange rate and recent local tax increases.
Effective immediately, iCloud will go from R$4,90 to R$5,90 (approximately US$1) for its 50 GB plan and from R$299,90 to R$399,90 (approximately US$70) for its 12TB plan.
As for Apple One, the basic plan will remain at R$42,90 (approximately US$7,60) per month, while the Family plan saw a 9% increase to R$59,90 (approximately US$10,50) and the Premium plan jumped to R$99,90 (US$17,70) per month.
As of yet, there is no word on possible changes to Apple Music, Apple TV+, or other individual subscriptions in Brazil, but they are probably bound to follow.
