PureEdge Lighting Launches App-Free Smart Remote

PureEdge Lighting has launched the Pure Smart WiZ Pro Wi-Fi Remote Room Controller. It’s a mouthful, but the product itself is deserving of its title. It’s a full-on professional wireless controller designed for anyone living in the WiZ smart lighting ecosystem or thinking of joining it. It’s launching at $40 and is now available for sale on the Lightology platform.

A smart remote for your light troubles

If you’re deep into the Google Home app or have a smart home setup in general, you already know how futuristic it seems. You tell Google to dim the lights, swipe your phone to change the color temperature, maybe even set up a few automation routines. The new WiZ Pro product builds on that system with their own instant wireless control over your connected lighting without ever opening your phone.

You simply pair it to your home’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi  and link the controller to specific rooms or groups of lights and assign it lighting scenes like “Relax” or “Movie Night.” After setup, the remote handles everything and you can change how warm or cool the lights feel, dim them, brighten them, or switch scenes, all with a physical button press.

Because it also works over your local network and the cloud, it’s still functional even if your internet goes down. You also get voice control compatibility if you use Google Assistant (or rather Gemini), Amazon’s sketchy Alexa, Siri, or SmartThings, but you mostly don’t have to.

The controller is powered by four AAA batteries, and you can choose to mount the controller or leave it on your centre table. From the dedicated WiZ app and dashboard, you can assign up to four preset lighting scenes.

Control daylight and nighttime inside your home

PureEdge’s wireless remote control pairs beautifully with the rest of their lighting system. For example, the Pure Smart TruColor RGBTW fixtures offer a full-spectrum lighting range between 1500K and 6500K, which means you have control over how your environment feels at any given time. It’s aesthetically impressive. If you’re a night owl, it’s going to do a lot of good for your bodily system.

You’ve probably heard of the circadian rhythm, AKA your body’s internal clock for sleep and alertness. At the lower end of that spectrum, around 1500K, the light is soft and amber-toned, almost like candlelight. It’s calming and low in blue light. It’s precisely what your body needs as you wind down in the evening because exposure to warmer light triggers melatonin production to make you fall asleep naturally.

On the other end, around 6500K, the light is bright and akin to daylight at noon. This type of light tells your body it’s time to be awake and alert, which is ideal for mornings, work hours, or any time you need to stay focused. With the Room Controller, you can instantly switch between these lighting temperatures and customize your space to match your energy levels or routine.
