Netmarble’s next big game is Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, taking players on a journey across Westeros in a way they’ve never experienced before, and now the game has an official full launch date. The game has been available in early access on Steam for a little while. However, as an early access title, not all features are necessarily available. Nor are the ones that are available set in stone. It’s a state of flux for the game as its developers take feedback from players during the development process. A big reason for this sort of release is to find and fix bugs with player help. It’s also to let players help shape the game. From the player side of things, it also gives them a way to experience the game as early as possible. The game will be available on PC and mobile, but there are currently no confirmed plans for release on PS5 or Xbox Series X.
While there have been several Game of Thrones games before, none have really been quite like what Kingsroad offers. It’s an action/adventure RPG with hack-and-slash-style combat. Players can also engage in online multiplayer via co-op or experience the game solo if they prefer. What makes this game truly unique and intriguing is the ability to see Westeros from a new perspective. Fans of the series can explore Westeros like never before, venturing through every corner of the land. If you’ve been wanting to check out Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, but you wanted to wait for the full launch, you won’t have to wait much longer.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad gets a full launch on May 21
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad developer Netmarble Neo (published by Netmarble) put out a new trailer for the game today, and it’s entirely focused on presenting the full launch date for the game. It’ll be arriving on May 21 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as Google Play Games for PC, and Android mobile devices via the Play Store. It’s also launching for iOS.
Netmarble also confirms that the game will be launching as a free-to-play title. While the game is available in early access right now, you have to buy access. This starts at $24.99 for the Standard Pack, which comes with a few extra in-game goodies. Prices only go up from there. If you don’t feel like spending money to see what the game is like, you’ll be able to play for free in just a few more weeks.
What’s more, the game will feature cross-play support. That means you’ll be able to play on any platform you wish, and party up with friends for online co-op. Even if they don’t play on the same platform as you. The developers don’t mention anything about cross-save, so it’s unclear if players will be able to start on one platform and then jump to another while keeping their game progress.
