Bad News: The OnePlus 13T Won’t Be Coming to These Regions

The OnePlus 13T launched very recently, bringing flagship specs to what is arguably OnePlus’ first compact smartphone. Despite being small, the device comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and a bigger battery than the larger OnePlus 13. Needless to say, it is a killer option for anyone who doesn’t mind a smaller display.

There’s bad news, though. The device was initially launched in China, and I had a strong expectation that it’d eventually be launched globally. Sadly, while it seems set to find its way out of China, customers in the United States and Europe shouldn’t hold their breath. The OnePlus 13T has been confirmed not to be coming to Europe or the US.

The United States, Canada, and Europe Won’t Be Getting the OnePlus 13T

OnePlus is a Chinese OEM, and with most of its launches, even devices like its flagship numbered series, the phones are released in China first, before they make it to the rest of the world. So, when the OnePlus 13T was released in China some days ago, there was no reason to believe that the phone wouldn’t eventually find its way to other regions, particularly the ones where OnePlus has a larger consumer base.

Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The OnePlus 13T will be leaving China, which is sort of a good thing. But if you happen to live in the United States, Canada, or Europe, then it’s a bad thing—the phone has been confirmed by OnePlus not to be coming to those regions, according to The Verge.

This sucks quite a lot since it drastically reduces the options that users in those regions have from the company. OnePlus only has a portfolio of “big” phones, and those who would have liked something with a size similar to the Samsung Galaxy S25 or the Google Pixel 9 are going to be best served by actually going for one of those devices instead.

The OnePlus 13T Will Be Going to India in a Rebranded Version

While OnePlus might be uninterested in some of its biggest Western markets, it won’t ignore one of the biggest markets in Asia, India, quite unsurprisingly.

In this case, the OnePlus 13T will be rebranded as the OnePlus 13S; I’m not sure there’s a concrete reason for that. That announcement gave us some hope that the device would be available in other markets, but that hope was quickly extinguished. There’s no other region confirmed to be getting the phone beyond China and India for now.

It’s a Shame; The OnePlus 13T Brings Power Beyond Its Size

The OnePlus 13T comes with a 6.32-inch screen, which might not sound that “compact” if you’ve been watching smartphones evolve over the years. However, with minimal bezels and current trends, it is almost as small as you’ll get with a flagship—nobody is going below 6 inches anymore.

Despite that size, the phone has a big boy spec sheet, including the following:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • 6,260mAh battery (even bigger than the OnePlus 13 and 13R, despite being smaller)
  • 80W fast wired charging
  • Up to a 16GB/1TB configuration, with UFS 4.0 storage

The only things you can argue the OnePlus 13T slips up in are the fact that it “merely” has IP65 certification and only two cameras on the back. Beyond that, it nails everything.
