Tonight News 13 begins a new feature called the I-Team Coronavirus Help Desk to get our viewers’ questions answered.

“Why are auto dealerships still open? They are nonessential and have way more people than the mandate …” one viewer asked.

Technically, the service/maintenance departments for dealerships are considered essential businesses, because they have to keep vehicles up and running.

Many mountain dealerships, however, said they’re modifying the way they do business in their showrooms to comply with the state’s mandates.

Asheville Chevrolet is making gloves available for customers and employees and taking additional efforts to sanitize its showrooms.

Other dealerships said they’re offering dropoff service so customers don’t have to enter the buildings.

You may submit your questions to the I-Team at News 13’s Jennifer Emert, Lauren Brigman and Karen Zatkulak will work to get an answer for you.
