The Vivo X50 series was announced today, with Vivo promising a serious commitment to mobile photography. That’s par the course for most new phones these days, sure, but they really do just keep getting better.
We’ll go over what’s new in the Vivo X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+.
Vivo X50 announced
Vivo is being pretty catty about specs right now, for whatever reason, but we do know that the Vivo X50 Pro+ will be rocking a Snapdragon 865 CPU with the included 5G modem. The entire lineup is supposedly 5G, but Vivo only talked about the processor on the highest end of the trio.
They did mention that the regular Vivo X50 is the world’s thinnest 5G phone, however, so that’s pretty cool.
The real focus of these phones is on the camera capabilities. The Vivo X50 is using a pretty cool feature that was originally only teased in some Vivo concept phones, but should drastically improve your video shooting experience. Yep, these phones have built-in gimbals for significantly better stabilization when it comes to your camera, even if you have shaky hands.
It still features four rear cameras, including a periscope lens that can do up to 60x hybrid zoom and a brand new Samsung 50MP ISOCELL sensor.
Honestly, that’s about it. There’s a lot up in the air about this phone, which makes for a pretty strange announcement. Usually these companies want to talk up their phones a little bit more, but we’ll have to wait longer to hear what’s going on with the Vivo X50.
