The man who was stabbed to death in Riverside on Thursday, May 7, and the man accused of killing him have been identified.

Joel Jose Carrillo, 30, of Riverside, died at the scene of a fight in the 3800 block of Roblynn Street, the Riverside Police Department said. Dayton McClain Pompa, 20, initially retreated to his home on nearby Shelby Drive but returned to the Roblynn site, where he was arrested, police said.

Pompa was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder and was being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Pompa has no documented criminal record in Riverside County, Superior Court records show.
