ROG Phone 3

Gaming smartphones have come a long way since Sony’s Xperia Play back in 2011 and 2020 is shaping up to deliver the most powerful mobile gaming experiences yet. ASUS will launch the ROG Phone 3 during a ‘game-changer’ event on July 22nd. The new gaming phone could be the first to launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ processor.

Besides the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 865, we expect the ROG Phone 3 to also feature 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a trio of rear cameras with a 64MP main sensor. Thanks to its TENAA listing, we also know that it has a massive 6,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging. There is a rumor that the ROG Phone 3’s 6.59-inch FHD+ display could have a 144Hz refresh rate, as we’ve seen recently on Nubia’s Red Magic 5G. Software-wise, expect the gaming phone to launch running Android 10 out of the box with the ROG UI running on top.

Jully 22nd is shaping up to be a busy day in the tech world, with Samsung launching its Galaxy Watch 3 on the very same day. The ‘Game Changer’ event kicks off at 11 AM ET/ 4PM BST. Will you be watching the launch of the ROG Phone 3?
