A veteran of hospital administration, Wetton began leading the facility when it opened in 2012. Since then, she brought heart care to San Diego and Riverside counties by achieving advanced designation for the center, a news release stated.
“Throughout its history, California has benefited immensely from the contributions of public-spirited individuals who, in addition to their daily pursuits, take a keen interest in local affairs,” Waldron said in the release. “(Wetton) is to be congratulated … and commended for her exemplary record of professional and civic leadership.”
Manila Zaman, the hospital’s chief of cardiology, nominated Wetton for the award.
