Smartphones and laptops appear to be the most sought-after time in this year’s chase for Black Friday bargains.
A new survey, conducted by tech giant Huawei, has revealed that 60 per cent of UK shoppers are hoping to snap up a deal in the sales.
Research found that the top tech predicted purchase is a smartphone, with a quarter looking to upgrade their mobile device on Black Friday, indicating that staying connected is more important than ever in the current climate.
Media watchdog Ofcom found that during lockdown Britons were spending 40 per cent of their waking hours in front of a screen.
Whether working from home, online shopping or watching videos online screen time is at an all-time high, and the research from Huawei found that people are looking to invest in new laptops (21 per cent), tablets (19 per cent) and PC’s (13 per cent) this Black Friday.
A TV is also high on shoppers’ Black Friday wish lists, with 24 per cent of people polled looking to bag a bargain.

A further 23 per cent want new headphones to keep them entertained during the winter months, while 19 per cent are on the look-out for a games console.
Keeping fit is also a priority for many this year, with 18 per cent of Brits looking to buy a smartwatch or fitness tracker along with trainers (18 per cent), gym clothing (17 per cent) and exercise machines (13 per cent).
